Schedule Back Ups
We come across numerous clients who unfortunately have not backed up there systems and due to older computers, viruses or other means the files are damaged or lost.
This can be a complete inconvenience to many people which is why back ups are so important.
We understand that not everyone knows how to back up there systems and this is not a problem because we are here to help.
So, what do we back up to? Well there are a number answers some as marked below:
- CD/DVD
- Memory Stick (USD)
- External Hard Drive
- Secondary Internal Hard Drive

Today marks the day of another website gone live. Appropriate Staging Limited
The aim for Purves Web Desgins was to create a site that is simple, effective and to the point to promote their products and engineering excellence.

Link Building as Part of the SEO Experience.
What are Links and Why Are They Important?
Links to pages on your website from pages on other websites are like popularity votes. The more links a page has the more popular the page becomes but it’s not just about the number of links, it’s also about the quality of the links. For example if another popular page links to your page the value of that link is higher than a link from a page that isn’t popular.
You do not always need links however to rank as high as number one it will be difficult.
To this day the best way to build links is by hand. Link building takes a lot of time but it is very effective and easy to do. You need to also make sure that your site is worth linking to, lets face it, would you link to a website that was irrelevant or a site that you did not like?.
Create content that is worth a linking to, how to articles, tips, FAQ’s on products if products is what you are selling and so on. It can be tough but the time and effort put in will pay dividends down the line.
Think about the types of sites you want to trade links with, this may take sometime but you need to think of other types of sites that could potentially trade links with you. Focus on that and go for it.
Be sure to evaluate the links, you do not want to be going after links from sites that search engines do not find valuable, see my page rank post for more information on this but in a nutshell the higher the page rank the more valuable that link is.
You will spend a lot of time researching, valuation each link, website, business, it is by far the most time consuming task but what are the risks? Surely you cannot just slam 1000 links on to the site and BOOM! top rankings! – well correct, you cannot, there are risks and I will explain some of them here.
Some ideas of link building unfortunately come into the category of spamming any site they can, this is probably one of the quickest ways of your site being penalized. A search engine will find out and it will make it very hard to get a good rank.
What you need are sites that are in your market (maybe not direct competitors of course) which if if you think about it makes complete sense because it makes it relevant.
Of course all of the above is on top of the general marketing of a site, you need to market carefully, precisely and push your site out there to get the traffic.
